Privacy Policy

Introduction

PG Orbit is a PostgreSQL client for iOS, Android, and macOS, made by Acrogenesis LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, what little of it reaches our servers, and the choices you have.

The short version: your database credentials and your data stay on your device. If you create a sync account, we store your email address and the connection settings and saved queries you choose to sync — never passwords, private keys, or the contents of your databases.

What Stays on Your Device

  • Database passwords, SSH private keys, and passphrases: stored exclusively in your device's secure keychain. They are never transmitted to our servers, with sync on or off.
  • Your database contents: queries run directly from your device to your database server. Query results, table data, and schemas never pass through our infrastructure.
  • Local settings: theme, UI density, and other preferences.

The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics SDKs.

What We Collect if You Use Sync

Sync is optional. Without an account, nothing described in this section applies. If you sign in, we collect and store:

  • Your email address — provided by Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in, or the email verification code flow. We use it to identify your account and send sign-in codes. We do not send marketing email.
  • Connection settings — connection name, host, port, database name, database username, SSL mode, and SSH tunnel settings (host, port, SSH username). Passwords, private keys, and passphrases are excluded by design.
  • Saved queries — the SQL you explicitly save.
  • Query historyonly if you turn on history sync, which is off by default. History includes the raw SQL you ran and any database error text, which is why it is opt-in and labeled with a privacy notice in the app.
  • Subscription status — we verify your Sync subscription with Apple or Google and store its status and expiry. Payment is processed entirely by the App Store or Google Play; we never see your payment details.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Synced data is stored on servers located in the United States and is encrypted in transit with TLS. If you use Sync from outside the United States, your synced data (as described above) is transferred to and processed in the United States.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share information only with:

  • Infrastructure providers that host our sync service and deliver email (for sign-in codes), bound to processing data on our behalf.
  • Apple and Google, to validate purchases and subscriptions you make through their stores.
  • Authorities, if required by law.

Retention and Deletion

Synced data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account from the app's sync settings at any time — this removes the account and all synced data from our servers. Deleting your account does not cancel a Sync subscription; manage subscriptions in the App Store or Google Play.

You can also clear query history or turn history sync off at any time from sync settings.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Since we store only the items listed above, the fastest path is usually the in-app account deletion. For anything else, email us and we will help.

Children

PG Orbit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above. Material changes to what we collect will be called out in the app's release notes.
